Prasti Purdum

Prasti (she/they) is a Seattle-based dancer and began training at the age of five, primarily studying ballet, under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) program and then continued on to earn a B.A. in Dance and International Studies from the University of Washington. She has had the opportunity to work with many talented local artists including Alyza Delpan-Monley, MALACARNE//Alice Gosti, Bennyroyce Royon Dance, and legendary Seattle band Thunderpussy in collaboration with the Seattle Symphony. Prasti is a current company member for The Guild Dance Company in addition to being their Grants Manager, Educational Development and Tour Manager. She is also a current company member of the NYC/SEA based Kinesis Dance Project. Prasti has performed in various Seattle-based festivals including Tint Dance Festival, Full Tilt Dance Festival, the Seattle International Dance Festival, and Bumbershoot 2023.

As a teaching artist, Prasti has taught creative movement, contemporary, and ballet classes in both the Cleveland and Seattle areas. Dance brings her joy and a sense of wonder, and can be a vehicle to share stories and embody experiences and emotions. These elements along with her deep-rooted love for dance is something they strive to cultivate and nurture in the students she teaches. Prasti taught at Tutu School Seattle from 2020-2022. Prasti’s favorite ballets are Swan Lake and Giselle, and their butterfly wings are purple with gold sparkles!
