Back to Ballet!

The school year is starting, and classes are filling up at Tutu School Belmont! If you are considering a new activity or planning to return to dance classes, our ballet classes are ready to add to your weekly schedule.

  1. Incorporating Structure

By adding an extracurricular activity to your dancer’s week, you are creating a sense of schedule and consistency for your child. Ballet becomes an expectation and a class to look forward to during the week. Starting a new grade comes with a lot of changes, but our dance classes curriculum is designed for consistency and for dancers to expect a particular schedule from week to week. For many dancers who have not yet started school, ballet class is the first introduction to in-class instruction with other children their age.

  1. Magical Ballet Experiences

Our teachers create a lot of magic into one ballet class in addition to technical instruction. Each class is tailored to a monthly theme and incorporates activities that match the seasons and different learning based activities. This fall, we will have classes themed around outer space, fall, thanksgiving, and winter while reading stories like the Nutcracker and Cinderella to ring in the seasons. Our dance classes prioritize magic while giving practical instruction to our students through age appropriate ballet technique, and conclude each class with a “Storybook Adventure in Ballet,” which is an interactive storybook section with readings, dancing, and music of classical ballet stories.

  1. Preparation for Bravo Bash

Regardless if you choose for your child to participate in Bravo Bash, our bi-annual recital which is open to Tutu Toddler students and older, students will be learning choreography and working on practice steps in sequence, technique, and confidence to be able to dance on stage. By choosing to participate, children will get the experience of their first steps on stage and getting familiar with what it’s like to dance in a theater. Because our teachers are organizing class to be able to fit in recital practice, there are no extra rehearsals or out of class practices to prepare for the show. This is to mitigate extra strain on our dancers, and to make this experience as fun as possible!
