Meet our team
Rachel LeGault
- What is your favorite Ballet Story from our curriculum?
- Cinderella
- Do you have a go-to step that you love to teach or perform?
- Grande Jete
- Do you have a go-to animal for inspiration during Animal Dances?
- I love going “down on the farm” (set to Copland’s Rodeo, of course!) and galloping like a horse to visit the chickens and cows and beautiful garden where the flowers grow
- What makes Tutu School special to you?
- I love that we let kids be kids. They are learning the foundations of ballet without stress or anxiety. Keeping the childlike wonder in ballet is how we keep their spark for the art ignited!
Rachel began her dance journey at the age of 3 at Sherry Martin School of Dance. She competed all over North America as a teen, eventually hanging up her dance shoes for a career in Television in Los Angeles. After four years of TV Magic, Rachel returned to her dancing roots, running the afterschool dance program at the prestigious Little Red School House of Hollywood. She also danced with the 3rd Street Dance performance team, and spent additional time honing in her childcare skills as a nanny. During the pandemic, Rachel produced and performed in a live puppet show for children (and adults!) who needed some positivity and inclusion in their lives. This puppet show raised over $25,000 for various charities during the Pandemic, and wrapped in June of 2021, when she made the move to the Bay Area. In the Bay, she discovered Tutu School, and reignited her passion for teaching ballet. She loves magic, being silly, and proving that ballet is for everybody and every body!
