Teacher Chaney
Favorite Ballet Storytime Story
My favorite ballet story is Swan Lake. I have had the opportunity to dance the role of Odette, and it has deeply influenced how I share storytelling with my students. I love presenting the journey from darkness to light, emphasizing support, kindness, and the idea that true love and encouragement help us grow and transform, not to mention the importance of adagio and allegro music!
Favorite Ballet Step
My go-to step is the pas de chat. This step encourages students to stay light on their feet, build coordination, and engage fully with the movement while having fun.
Do you have a go-to animal for inspiration during Animal Dances?
For animal dance time, I love exploring underwater animals. My favorite is the crab since it’s helpful, friendly, and delightfully quirky, offering endless opportunities for playful exploration in dance.
Favorite Thing About Teaching at Tutu School
Tutu School is special to me because it offers a standardized, authentic, and positive environment that nurtures creativity in young dancers. It provides a joyful supplement to a child’s creative development and welcomes all students. Being part of the Tutu School community inspires me daily and supports me in fostering confidence, imagination, and a love of dance in every child.
