  • What is your favorite Ballet Story from our curriculum?

    • My favorite ballet story from our curriculum is Swan Lake. The music is absolutely beautiful, and the story captures the imagination with its themes of love, magic, and transformation
  •

  • Do you have a go-to step that you love to teach or perform?

    • Yes, I love teaching sautés and échappés. It’s amazing to see how quickly the little ones learn to get both feet off the ground with confidence and joy. These steps are simple but so energizing, and they always bring smiles to their faces!
  •

  • Do you have a go-to animal for inspiration during Animal Dances?

    • Yes, I use monkeys for animal dance inspiration. We pretend to swing from vine to vine, turning 180°, which helps the dancers understand upstage and downstage as well as front and back. It also sets a great foundation for learning how to spot and prepare for soutenu turns.

  • What makes Tutu School special to you?
    •

    • Tutu School is special to me because it brings together two of my greatest passions: teaching and ballet. But what touches me the most is knowing I get to be a part of these young dancers’ very first experience with ballet—and that they carry the joy of class with them long after it ends.
