Each and every time a ballet storybook is opened, a little bit of magic happens! Young dancers beam with inspiration, creativity, and new ideas they want to explore. Ballet Book Club is a joyful blend of literacy, creativity, and movement. This activity allows little ones to not only explore enriching literature in a developmentally appropriate way; it also allows them to kinesthetically explore ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Ballet Book Club?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ballet Book Club is an extra enrichment opportunity offered through Tutu School. In Ballet Book Club, teachers read a story centered around ballet. Each story is magnificent and inspiring, meant to share the experiences of real-life dancers, fun stories about ballet characters, and so much more. Each story is paired with a movement activity that supports learning through kinesthetic exploration. All of our stories inspire movement, music, and ballet exploration. The teacher facilitates a meaningful environment where dancers can thrive judgment-free. This means that ballet dancers of all levels can enjoy Ballet Book Club, with no reading or ballet experience needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Books + Ballet Belong Together<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Not only do movement and stories facilitate improved motor skills, memory, and creativity, but they also generate engagement, emotional connection, brain development, and language skills. You simply cannot go wrong when it comes to reading and movement! Children learn and grow through stories. They build essential listening and comprehension skills and gain vocabulary exposure. The inclusion of dancing provides children with confidence and the ability to express their ideas physically. Dance helps children feel the story, not just hear it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each Ballet Book Club is specially crafted to foster children’s learning in a developmentally appropriate way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcome Circle\/Story Time: <\/strong>Teachers will gently introduce the story while getting to know each dancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Movement: <\/strong>During the story, children will be offered the opportunity to move and play. All movement is inspired by characters, settings, and emotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guided Ballet: <\/strong>The teacher will guide students using props and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classes are always age-appropriate, playful, and pressure free. There is no wrong way to do it!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tutu School intentionally chooses books to enhance the worlds of the children who read them. Each book is rich in inclusivity and imagination!
