Favorite Ballet Storytime Story
My favorite ballet story from our curriculum is the Nutcracker because I love recreating the scenes I know so well with my dancers and they get so excited for the story and talk about it all year round
Favorite Ballet Step
I love teaching coup de pie retire because it adds that extra challenge to a core step, passé! And I love performing and teaching chaines because the dancers think it’s so fun to twirl and I love to chaine really fast across the room!
Do you have a go-to animal for inspiration during Animal Dances?
My go to animal is the octopus because dancers love the silly arms, or the bee because I love playing “Flight of the Bumblee” because my dancers will immediately start getting their wings out and buzz
Favorite Thing About Teaching at Tutu School
I started ballet as a toddler and what I love about tutu school is that it introduces ballet in a way that doesn’t require the stress of back stage, makeup, hair, or rehearsals at such a young age and puts the emphasis on just fun and doing one’s best, until they reach an older age where more structure in ballet is appropriate and that is the one thing I hear consistently from families that is so special about tutu school is the opportunity for ANY one to dance at any age or level just for fun if they want to, to develop a love of it in a safe, cute, and uplifting environment when theyre so little.
