Local Spotlight: Bloom Bloom Floral Boutique
At Tutu School Beverly Grove, we love celebrating the local businesses that bring creativity, connection, and beauty to our neighborhood. This week, we’re highlighting Bloom Boom Floral Boutique, a full-service floral studio and community gathering space known for its fresh arrangements, flower bars, workshops, and thoughtful approach to bringing people together through flowers.
We spoke with Bloom Boom’s owner about the story behind the boutique, the joy of creating with flowers, and what makes being part of the local community so meaningful.
What is Bloom Boom, and what inspired you to start it?
Flowers have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandmother was an avid gardener and my mom always had flowers in the house — they were stenciled on our walls, on the fabric of my bedspread, painted on the china we ate from. I’d come over to my grandparents’ house and find floral design books all over the dining room table — my grandma was studying to become a judge of floral compositions for the Portland Garden Club, traveling to county and state fairs each summer.
In 2020, I had three boys under five and a consulting business I ran with my husband. When the pandemic hit and the schools closed, I stepped away from the business to shepherd my son through zoom kindergarten, try and entertain a toddler and spend time with my newborn. The days blurred together. I needed something to combat the burnout. After the kids were asleep, I’d lay out flowers I’d picked up from Trader Joe’s and just make arrangements. Touching the stems, smelling the blooms, getting lost in the colors — it gave me the escape and reset I needed. I started putting flowers in every room of the house. In a time of extreme loneliness, it helped to bring some of the outside world in.
Eventually the schools reopened, our business boomed, and we were able to sell the company. I decided that for my next business, I wanted to create a place where people could gather to immerse themselves in the beauty of flowers and spend time in that same warm, creative energy that had gotten me through the pandemic. The moment I stepped into Bloom Boom Floral Boutique, I knew it was exactly what I’d been looking for. It’s an absolutely beautiful space, filled with flowers and light. I became the new owner in June of 2025, and immediately started offering monthly flower arranging workshops, so I could bring more members of the community in. Today we are a full service floral studio, offering same-day flower delivery along with wedding and event florals. But the heart of who we are is in offering our space to the community either via private rental for their own parties or in the monthly workshops.
What makes Bloom Boom unique?
Beyond the floral design work, Bloom Boom is a gathering space — a serene escape in the middle of the city. We offer:
- Everyday arrangements and gifting
- Event and wedding florals
- Flower bars, where guests build their own arrangements at parties and celebrations
- Monthly flower-arranging classes open to the community
- Event space rental for private parties and brand activations
We also give back — bringing event florals to assisted living communities after they’re used, donating arrangements to children’s hospitals, and partnering with nonprofits on fundraisers.
What’s your favorite part of being part of the local community?
Getting to intersect people in their special moments — whether that’s a celebration or a moment of grief — and creating something together. One of my favorite moments so far was when someone came in wanting a custom arrangement because their favorite restaurant in Los Angeles was closing, and they wanted to bring something to the owner on her last night in business. He told me all about the restaurant — what it had meant to him, what the vibe was like — and we built the arrangement together. That co-creating together – I really love that.
I feel that same sense of connection every time someone in one of my classes creates a beautiful arrangement and has that moment of surprise — realizing they could do something they didn’t know they could. I love when people say, “I’m going to start doing this more!”
What other local businesses do you love supporting?
So many! Sweet Lady Janes is down the street and has amazing cupcakes! And I love doing parties with Bloom Boards. Both of these businesses have amazing food and it’s the perfect pairing with flower arranging!
