Favorite Ballet Storytime Story
My favorite Ballet Story is Cinderella where Happiness finds those who are kind. I danced a production of Cinderella when I was younger and I saw the magic of the story come to life from right backstage.
Favorite Ballet Step
My favorite step to teach Primary Ballet Prep is chassé from third, I love to see all the students put everything together and have it click in their brain and they find out they can do complicated steps. My other favorite step to teach the Exploring Ballet level is a piqué because it’s so fun to see them figure out how to extend their leg and figure out the quality of a piqué as well as they get to have fun painting lady bugs.
Do you have a go-to animal for inspiration during Animal Dances?
My go to animals are bees and butterflies, I love using songs Flight of the Bumblebee and Dos Oruguitas to accompany flying fast like bees and flying slow like butterflies.
Favorite Thing About Teaching at Tutu School
Tutu School is so special to me because I have the privilege of being part of so many childhood memories as well as being a part of many villages among our tutu families, I’m glad we can create a space for children to explore dance safety and creativity in a magical way. I’m glad that I was able to grow up and be the teacher I needed when I was a little kid.
