Disney Month at Tutu School

Who knew that Tutu School had so many fun things outside of our traditional ballet classes? Well this summer, we got to experience some of the fun with some of our favorite characters for Disney Month! While we invited all our friends to come to twirl with us on these four separate Fridays, it was an extra special treat for our members who were able to attend with no extra cost. Just one of our amazing perks here at Tutu School. Should we see which characters came to visit?

Absolutley!

Woody!

Our first Disney Character was not only one of the favorites but, HE was also one who could really show the kids how to dance. Throughout the week we galloped like Bullseye and marched like Rex. We played a game of “Andy’s Coming” which allowed our dancers to freeze in different poses or fall gracefully to the ground pretending to be toys. Our ribbons were lassoes and of course our ballet shoes were cowgirl and cowboy boots. We even had extra friends in class because we all need a friend like Woody.

Friday, Woody came along with his box of toys! We danced, ate snacks and read a story- did we mention all the dancing?! Here are some of photos from Woody at Tutu School.

Mirabel!

Our second Character for Disney Month was one who brought all the color and music. Mirabel from Encanto joined us this second week in the studio! Throughout the week we used all the instruments creating music and rhythm. Dancers were given maracas as well as our egg shakers. They used our rhythms to dance slow or dance fast. We danced strong like Lisa and graceful like Isabella. As we moved around the studio we were able to pretend to be mice and Bruno sneaking across the floor.

On Friday, Mirabel came to dance! We painted our own maracas and created memories together.

Jasmine!

In our third week of Disney Month we traveled across the seas on our magic carpet to visit Aladdin and Princess Jasmine. Throughout the week we danced on our magic carpets, moved like monkeys and of course pretended to be a princess! We used our scarves to move gracefully across the floor as well as roared like tigers! Our dancers were able to meet princess Jasmine on the last Friday and we had so much fun creating necklaces with gems and color. Jasmine read us a book and challenged our minds to dance and move our bodies with her throughout the story. Of course, we had snacks and took a ton of photo’s also.

Mickey and Minnie!

We ended our Disney Themed Month with our main characters… Mickey and Minnie!

Our dancers were able to dress up in their favorite Disney attire this week for class. We celebrated the month by having Mickey and Minnie at our studio. They danced with us and showed us how much fun they can be at Tutu School. We had tattoos and a painting craft that left a lifelong memory for our dancers. Needless to say it was the most popular of the Friday events, but oh so much fun!

We truly hope everyone enjoyed our Disney Month and that we made a little bit of magic in your summer. As we continue to grow our Tutu Family we hope to continue to offer such fun and exciting experiences and activities for not just our dancers but also the community of Lubbock.
