Join Berkeley City Ballet for a Ballet 1 trial class! Dancers who are at least 7 years old or entering 2nd grade are eligible to join Ballet 1 in BCB’s pre-professional training program. BCB offers classical ballet training in a nurturing and supportive environment, where dancers not only receive top-tier ballet training, but also learn discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. Beginning in Ballet 1, dancers participate in their annual Nutcracker and Spring Concert performances. They are of the few schools in the Bay Area that produce a full-length Nutcracker and it’s the highlight of their year! Dancers should wear ballet shoes and any tights and leotard they are comfortable with. Hair should be pulled out of their face in a ponytail or bun.
