Consistency Is Key!
The Importance of Attending Ballet Classes During the Back-to-School Season.
Back to school season is here, and with it comes all the changes on your and your little one’s schedule. This season can make us overwhelmed with the little ones adapting to school and the additional extracurricular activities, but here’s why it is important to keep twirling through this transitional period.
A consistent schedule provides security and safety for little minds. Kids feel safest when they know what to expect, and an unchanging schedule provides them with the opportunity to adapt to new things, like a school schedule, while maintaining the rest of their activities the same.

At Tutu School, we believe that weekly ballet classes help the little ones learn fundamental skills that they will carry with them throughout their life. Through dancing, they learn turn taking, listening, following directions and applying correction; all this without even realizing that they are learning these skills because they are having fun in a risk-free place that helps them explore their creativity and imagination. The skills that they learn in ballet class make the adapting to school classes easier since they are able to apply the tools they learned while twirling and leaping to a new place.
While there will still be an adaptation period during back-to-school season, with the addition of school to your little one’s schedule, maintaining the rest of their weekly activities will help with an easier transition. Instead of their entire week looking different when school starts again, they will still have something expected to look forward to in their week, like dancing with their friends in ballet class.
