A Favorite 4th of July Ballet Class Activity
Fireworks at Tutu School Raleigh
Just maybe, we all had the chance to see some glittery, sparkly, Fireworks decorate the sky over the last few days of the holiday weekend — I’ve always loved the pure awe that fireworks create on the 4th of July, or anytime.
A little bit of magic that can bring on a gasp of delight, a sweet “Wowwwww” + a giggle and a smile as this sizzle away. Plus, who doesn’t love seeing the sparkly light they project bounce off the faces of smiling littles?!
Fireworks are for celebration, but I love the way they cause everyone around to stop and just take them in. And I especially love when they are coordinated to music! Like true choreography in the sky!
Well, to that point, dancing like fireworks is still one of my favorite July ballet class activities! One I was reminiscing about over the weekend…
Bursting Fireworks
- Starting with feet and legs together,
- Take a nice deep plié and…
- Blasting off in a series of Sautés (two-legged jumps) while holding rainbow ribbon bracelets or hand kites to colorfully explode into the sky like Fireworks!
- When paired with this Tchaikovsky track with its canon blasts it always feels like the 4th of July!
