Teacher Jayla
Favorite Ballet Storytime Story
My favorite ballet story from the curriculum is Giselle. I admire Giselle because she remained resilient and continued to dance with grace despite the challenges and heartbreak she faced throughout the story. Her strength, determination, and love for ballet make her an inspiring character to me.
Favorite Ballet Step
My go-to step to perform and teach is pirouettes. I love the combination of technique, balance, and artistry that they require. A clean pirouette with a beautiful, controlled finish is one of the most satisfying movements in ballet.
Do you have a go-to animal for inspiration during Animal Dances?
My go-to animal for inspiration during animal dances is the horse. Growing up riding horses and spending much of my childhood in the South gave me a deep appreciation for their strength, elegance, and spirit. I love bringing those qualities into my ballet performances, especially when portraying animal-inspired characters and movements.
Favorite Thing About Teaching at Tutu School
What makes Tutu School special to me is the opportunity to share the same love of ballet that has been a part of my life since I was three years old. Watching the children learn, grow, and gain confidence reminds me of my own journey as a young dancer. It is incredibly rewarding to help them discover the beauty, creativity, and joy that ballet can bring.
