Teacher Maggie
Favorite Ballet Storytime Story
Favorite ballet story is a tie— I love The Firebird for its music and mystery, and I love La Fille Mal Gardee because it’s so funny! And we get to dance like chickens!
Favorite Ballet Step
I love teaching jetes, chasses, and pas de chat— anything that makes you feel like you’re flying!
Do you have a go-to animal for inspiration during Animal Dances?
I don’t have a go to for myself but I get a kick out of seeing what amalgamations of animals my kiddos come up with. I love the unicorn/kitty/princess combination!
Favorite Thing About Teaching at Tutu School
Tutu School is so special to me because I get to witness not only the growth of our young dancers but their joy as well, as they understand more each class what ballet means to them. Hearing them say the French words, and repeat themes of the stories, and knowing that this is now a part of their world, is magical.
