Kids Ballet Classes in Santa Monica: A Magical Sugar Plum Fairy Party

A little extra sparkle arrived at Tutu School Santa Monica on September 25! Our dancers joined us for a magical Sugar Plum Fairy Party filled with crafts, glitter, bubbles, ballet stories, and plenty of dancing.

The celebration was also a special way to get our dancers excited for our upcoming Winter Bravo Bash: Land of Sweets—and give them a little taste of the magic they’ll get to experience when they participate in our winter recital!

Making Magical Wands

Every fairy needs a wand, so our dancers started by creating their very own!

At our magic wand craft station, little dancers decorated their wands with colorful ribbons, sparkling gems, and stickers. We loved watching each dancer use their imagination to create something completely their own.

Once their wands were ready, there was only one thing left to do: put them to use for some magical dancing!

Glitter, Ballet Tattoos, and Bubbles

There was plenty of sparkle throughout the studio thanks to our temporary tattoo and glitter makeup station.

Our dancers especially loved the glitter makeup. By the end of the afternoon, our studio was filled with sparkling little fairies ready for their next adventure!

We also made time for bubbles, adding even more whimsy to an already magical day.

Storytime with the Sugar Plum Fairy

One of the highlights of our celebration was storytime with the Sugar Plum Fairy.

At Tutu School, storytelling and imagination are an important part of how we introduce young children to the world of classical ballet. This wasn’t a sit-still kind of storytime! Our dancers were inspired to get up, move, and dance their way through the magic of the story.

Our wonderful Teachers Alyssa, Christina, and Lauren joined in on the festivities, helping make the afternoon extra special for our dancers.

Getting Ready for the Land of Sweets

Our Sugar Plum Fairy Party was the perfect introduction to the magical world our dancers will soon experience in our Winter Bravo Bash: Land of Sweets.

Bravo Bash gives our students an opportunity to take the stage and share what they’ve been learning with their families. From learning choreography with their teachers to dressing in costume and finally performing under the stage lights, the recital is a special part of the Tutu School experience.

For our young dancers, it’s about more than performing ballet steps. It’s a chance to build confidence, experience the excitement of being on stage, dance alongside their friends, and create wonderful childhood memories.
