Meet the Incredible Women Behind the Magic.

When I first dreamed of opening a Tutu School, I knew it would take an amazing team to run. Today, I am so fortunate to have three incredible women who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make Tutu School magical. They are my pillars and partners in business. Shyanne, Kahlill, and Dominique have taken my expectations and my dreams for what Tutu School could be to new heights. Their innovation, creative solutions, and passion continually amaze me. 

Tutu School has a set of guiding principles that form the backbone of everything we do.

Recently, we sat down as a team and created our list of studio core values. These values are the heart of how we make decisions, show up for you and your family, and operate as a business. Shyanne, Kahlill, and Dominique exemplify these core values.

Shyanne Carroll ~ School Coordinator

Shyanne is the magic on the other end of the computer or phone. She guides you through every step of your Tutu journey ensuring you have the best customer experience. She’s always ready to answer your questions, find a solution for your individual needs, and advocate for your dancers. She brings an incredible level of care and compassion to her work by always striving to make your experience at Tutu School the best. She manages to do all this while taking care of her adorable one year-old daughter, Maisie. We wish Shyanne lived closer and could pop into the studio to meet you all in person, but she currently resides in Denver. 

One of the perks of Tutu School membership is unlimited makeup classeswhile you remain continuously enrolled. We know kids get sick, work meetings happen, and you can’t always make it to class. Shyanne is always available to help you schedule a makeup class if you can’t find one that works for you on your Pirouette Portal. *A gentle reminder as we head further into fall, please keep sick kids home. We will do everything we can to get you into a makeup class.

Kahlill Cruz ~ School Principal

Kahlill wears many tutus at Tutu School. In addition to training and mentoring our teachers, Kahlill creates our weekly curriculum. Each Tutu School class is designed to be engaging, fun, and developmentally appropriate. The Tutu School franchise has cultivated a wonderful curriculum of exercises, but Kahlill dives deeper to connect the steps to our weekly story, theme, and step of the month. 

Tutu School is for everybody, and we believe that every child should know what it feels like to dance. Behind the props and movement games lies an intentional foundation for developmentally appropriate milestones. We want your children to love Tutu School for the fun and magic while still growing and developing gross motor and social skills. 

Beyond connecting the exercises to the story, theme, and step of the month, Kahlill explains the execution of every step and why it matters. This level of detail is so helpful for our teachers to deliver the best classes while still inviting their own creativity and magic.

Kahlill has been hard at work to make Tutu School even more meaningful for our families. She’s been working on a curriculum update and new monthly milestone program, which I am excited to share with you soon. 

I don’t know how she does it all while taking care of her 7 month daughter, Lila, but I am eternally grateful that she does.

Dominique Waninger ~ Social Media and Event Coordinator

Dominique is our resident memory maker. She’s the magic behind our social media and events. Whether she’s sharing important reminders, classroom connections, or highlighting our events, she makes everything sparkle. Dominique is the first to greet you at our events, parties, and performances with her warm smile and infectious personality. 

Fun fact: Dominique was my first hire back in the summer of 2023. Tutu School Renton and Tacoma would not be what they are without her. Over the past two years, Dominique has welcomed twins, Bailey and Mia, and we are so excited to have two new toddlers twirling in Tacoma. 

When she’s not chasing after her almost 18 month old twins, she’s working hard to create more magical moments for our dancers and families.
