Favorite Ballet Storytime Story
My favorite is Sleeping Beauty! I've always loved the music, costumes and variety of characters. Its one of my favorite ballets to perform (I once played Carabosse and it was so fun to play a character so different than myself!)
Favorite Ballet Step
I love to teach the arm positions (port de bras). They are so simple and yet add so much grace and beauty to movement. I love to do pique turns and tour jetes.
Do you have a go-to animal for inspiration during Animal Dances?
Swans-- I love their grace and elegance!
Favorite Thing About Teaching at Tutu School
My first introduction to the Tutu School was as a parent of a dancer. It was a joy to introduce my son and daughter to my love of ballet in such a fun and loving environment, with incredible teachers. Since becoming a Tutu Teacher, I have loved showing the community that ballet is for everyone and that we all bring something unique to the studio and the stage! My favorite part of teaching is all of the different dancers I get to meet and to see their faces light up when they dance. I love that not only do we get to teach ballet steps and technique, but encourage creativity and teach the ballet stories that are at the heart of this art form. (And as a lover of all things pretty and pink, the beautiful, colorful, sparkly studio makes dancing feel even more magical!)
