Our Studio’s Coronation ~ Recapping Tutu School Westfield’s Grand Opening
The tiara is officially on. And we are still glowing!
There is something magical about watching a room fill with little dancers, glittery tutus, and joyful, twirling families that makes every late night, every planning spreadsheet, and every “wait, is this really happening?” moment completely worthwhile.
On the most beautiful Saturday afternoon, Tutu School Westfield celebrated its first month of classes with a Coronation. A royal, ice queen-queen open house celebrate that was somehow even more magical than I’d dreamed. The waitlist filled before we could blink. The studio sparkled. And our Tutu Community showed up in the most breathtaking way.
As our second month of classes passes by, I’ve been sitting with all of the gratitude since, and I wanted to take a proper moment to put it into words.

The Magic of the Day
Our studio was transformed into a royal court fit for an ice queen, complete with a jaw-dropping floral display and beautifully themed treats. The stunning set-up was the work of Confetti & Champagne Co., an event company run by two local moms who are pure magic behind the scenes of any great party.
such a beautiful, thoughtful, and well curated event! So grateful for @tutuschoolwestfield – thank you for hosting!

The balloons drawing families to the door and behind our frozen guest of honor? Courtesy of the incredibly talented Fun Don’t Pop, who created the spectacular display that set the tone the moment families walked through the door.
And then came the moment that stopped every little dancer in their tutu. Our dancers set eyes on our very special royal guest. A real, live ice queen from My Fairytale Party graced our Coronation with her presence, and the look on our dancers’ faces is something we will carry with us for a very long time.
But what made the day most magical of all? You. The families who showed up, twirled with us, and made this milestone feel as big and beautiful as it deserved to be. I am endlessly grateful.
It was such a wonderful event with the perfect craft, treats and special guest. All the little kids dolled up was so cute too. And your studio is ❤️🥰 Thank you for hosting!

The Village Behind our Celebration
Tutu School Westfield didn’t arrive in this community quietly. We were welcomed warmly, generously, and with open arms by some truly wonderful local partners and sponsors who believed in what we were building before we even had a lease. I want to take a moment to honor them properly.
Play & Talk With Us Westfield ~ Title Sponosr
Play & Talk With Us Westfield opened their doors to us for pop-up classes in the fall and welcomed us into their Little Learners Club on Wednesdays. They are the kind of community partner that makes a new small business feel like they belong; and I am so grateful to have gotten to know Kristina! At the Grand Opening, she was right there, sharing giveaways and a raffle with our families. Their play-based social skills classes, camps, and events are designed for all learners and are beautifully welcoming to neurodiverse and neurotypical children from toddlers to teens. If you haven’t connected with them, please do!
Our Supporting Sponsors
A heartfelt thank you to Mamas & Minis for providing the juice boxes to accompany our tasty treats. Mamas & Minis is a non-profit run by a Tutu mom who is committed to bringing moms and expecting moms across Northern NJ together for connection, conversation, and shared experience. It is exactly the kind of village we want to be a part of. To The Town Book Store, Westfield’s own locally and woman-owned bookstore and our beloved home for monthly Ballet Book Club: you are woven into so much of what makes this studio special. And to Zzzs by Zales, a certified sleep consultant (and a Tutu mom!) who provides sleep solutions catered to every family’s needs: we love having you in our corner, too!
The Community That Welcomed Us Home
Before our Grand Opening, before our first classes, and even before we had keys to a studio, there was a community that say yes to twirling. Pop-up classes, ballet storytimes, collaborations, and kind words from so many local partners who helped introduce Tutu School to the families of Westfield and beyond. We want each of them to know how much that meant and still means.
Thank you to Fine & Fleurie, Take a MOMent, Little Local magic, Small Town Play Café, Brassy Buddha, Ono Bowls, Fit4Mom Metuchen/Westfield, Lisa Greenstein Therapy, MCCNJ, Mamas Who Walk, and Art Café NJ. You helped build our community before we even had walls to call our own, and we are so grateful.
What This Milestone Means
Opening a studio is a dream I’ve had since I was 7 years old. After moving to New Jersey, where my husband grew up, opening Tutu School Westfield felt like an abstract idea for a long time. I imagined the classes, the tiny tutus, the music, and the faces of little dancers discovering something they love. But until it’s real, until the studio is full and the music is playing and a child is twirling on their toes for the first time, it’s hard to truly prepare for how it feels.
It feels like this. Like a Coronation. Like belonging.
We say it at the end of every class, and we mean it every single time:
Thank your for the music. Thank you for the dancing. Thank you for the magic.
To every family who came through our doors, who sent a kind message, or tagged us in a photo of your little one with our icy guest of honor, thank you. This is your studio, too.
The Story is Just Beginning
If you weren’t able to make it to our Grand Opening celebration, we want you know: the doors are open, the music is playing, and there is a spot in our studio with your child’s name on it. We’d love nothing more than to welcome your family to our Tutu School community.
Visit us at 509 Central Ave in Westfield, follow along on Instagram for all the latest magic, or head to our website to learn more about classes and register today.
Because every child should know what it feels like to dance.
